The City of Lancaster SRTS program began in March 2011 after being awarded State funding to create a SRTS plan for the City. Lancaster community members and the SRTS Task Force/Committee worked together over a 7-10 month period to plan safer routes and programs for Lancaster K-8 schools--encouraging more students to walk or bike to their school and to educate community members on safety issues relating to walking and biking. At the same time, high school students and the general public can benefit from these improvements.

The SRTS Task Force/Committee meets in the Lancaster School District building (925 W Maple Street). Check the News & Events section for the most up-to-date meeting times and information. All meetings and events are open to the public.
